The Adventure: This 3-mile hike at Cuba Marsh Forest Preserve on Chicago’s northwest side follows woodchip, boardwalk, and gravel path through pristine marsh, woodland, and grassland prairie. We’ll venture into a hidden grove of pines, cross a 50-foot-long timber bridge, and hike on a wooden boardwalk trail over native marshland. Post-hike we’ll grab beer and food in the woodsy Biergärten garden at Buffalo Creek Brewing, a Bavarian-inspired taproom in Long Grove, Illinois.
Hike Distance: 3 miles | Drive Time: 1 hour (one way)
